Moon Machines

On this entry we will talk about a video called Moon Machines: The Navigation Computer, a documentary that resumes the development of the journey to the moon. They start giving a brief of the basis of the project. Everything begins with a plane that can move by its own. NASA took this idea to make a plane that can fly to the moon and return to earth. After many attempts they build a prototype that can work correctly. Then they need to construct a machine that can handle the journey, but the hardest part wasn’t there it was on the program that can do that. Many people of the project wrote its own program with the requirements that they want or think it should need. At that point the codify the program in the machine and it was like to knit a sweater and if there was a bug, solve it was a headache.

The first spacecraft that could go to the space was Apolo 7, that orbited around earth. Then Apolo 8 orbited around the earth and moon. Finally, Apollo 11 was the first ship that land in the moon and the human being can walk through it. To make this possible they used a new software that wasn’t tested before.

That is the story of how the USA make a project possible, going to the moon. I think this is an interesting thing. Before a had no Idea of ow they do it. Also, this is a great comparison of how the subject will be about. In my opinion this will be interesting because we will use the knowledge that we learn before to construct an idea that can solve a specific problem. Furthermore, new methods will be learned and a new language. Having this in mind I think this course will help us for the job in the real world.
